German ComputerBase took the chance and talked to S3 Graphics during CES in Las Vegas. They disclosed some things about the near future: 1. There will be a new member of Chrome 500 Series: Chrome 540 GTX. It's will be clocked slightly higher than Chrome 440 GTX, so it will be faster. The card is supposed to be announced in January 2009. 2. The GPUs used for Chrome 500 Series was just slightly changed in comparison to the GPU of Chrome 400 Series (and that's what we already assumed): It consumes less power and the quality of HD Videos was improved. 3. S3 Graphics currently works on a new driver to enable "true" 3D experience with LCD shutter glasses (like nVidia recently announced) as well as traditional red/green anaglyph glasses. 4. In the future a MultiChrome system should be able to support up to 4 displays (currently it's just 2 displays). Links:
